How Do I Set-up Satchel Parcels?

Services Accepting Satchels at Skutopia

Skutopia supports various courier services that accept satchels. Here are the specific services offered by Couriers Please:

• Under 250g Satchel 
• Under 500g Satchel 
• Under 1kg Satchel 
• Under 3kg Satchel 

Ensure that your dimensions and weight are configured correctly when configuring your satchel parcels to match the services provided by Couriers Please.

By following these steps, you can efficiently configure satchel parcel types and ensure accurate shipping calculations for your orders.

Configuring a Satchel Parcel Type

To configure a satchel parcel type in Skutopia, follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings
   • Navigate to the Settings section in your Skutopia dashboard.
2. Select Parcels
   • Click on the Parcels option to set up your pre-configured shipping parcel sizes and weights.
3. Add New Parcel
   • Click on Add New Parcel to create a new parcel type.
4. Input Parcel Details
   • Parcel Name: Enter a name for your satchel parcel (e.g., "Satchel A4" or "Satchel 200g").
   • Parcel Type: Select Satchel 
   • Weight When Empty (kg): Enter the weight of the satchel when it is empty (e.g., 0.01 kg).
   • Length (cm): Enter the length of the satchel.
   • Width (cm): Enter the width of the satchel.
   • Height (cm): Enter the height of the satchel. 
   • Please note: If you enter a height of 0cm you can still see Couriers Please satchel rates however you may not see other carrier rates as height is a necessary dimension for other parcel types from our providers.
5. Save Parcel
   • Click Save Parcel to save the new satchel parcel type.

Adding Parcel Details via Sales Order Page

You can also add satchel parcel details during the sales order process:

1. Sales Order Page
   • While creating or editing a sales order, navigate to the packaging section.
2. Add Custom Parcel
   • Click on Add Custom Parcel and enter the dimensions and weight of the order.
3. Save Dimensions and Weight
   • Save the dimensions and weight to ensure accurate shipping calculations.
4. Refreshing rates 
   • Go to the Shipping Rates section of the order and click refresh rates. 
   • Parcel rates that you qualify for will appear. 

Troubleshooting accessing Satchel rates 

If you're experiencing problems booking a shipping label through the SKUTOPIA platform, it may be due to missing or incomplete information required by the carrier. 

Missing or Incomplete Customer Information

Problem: Missing or incomplete customer details such as email, phone number, or complete address.

Solution:

1. Couriers Please rates will not appear if there is a missing email address or an invalid recipient address on the order. 
2. Verify Customer Details: Ensure the customer's email address, phone number, and complete address are entered correctly. 
3. Update Information: Navigate to the order details page and update the recipient details and then refresh the rates. 
4. Please note: Either make changes to the order via Shopify or the SKUTOPIA platform. 

Missing parcel dimensions and weight 

Problem: Incorrect dimensions and weights 

Solution:

1. To trigger the under 250g satchel rates for Couriers Please it’s important to make sure the total weight of the package is less than 250g. 
2. Length (cm) and Width (cm) are important dimensions to include whilst Height is not. You may need to play around with the Height parameter and change to 0 cm or other value to have different carrier rates appear or not appear.
