Product Weights and Barcodes:
- Weight: Assign accurate weights to each product (or SKU) and its variants. This ensures precise calculations when generating shipping labels.
- Unique Barcodes: Set unique barcodes for every product (SKU). Barcodes help identify items during inventory management, shipping, and tracking.

International Considerations:
- Harmonised System (HS) tariff code: HS codes play a crucial role in customs procedures, ensuring accurate tariff application to orders. On Shopify, you can find the HS codes for your products by using the HS code field in the product details page. Learn more about HS codes from the World Customs Organisation.
- Syncing Shopify
Once your products have complete details and unique barcodes in Shopify, you'll then want to perform a sync with Skutopia, so that all product data is up to date.
In Skutopia, head to Settings then Integrations. Please confirm that you’re on the correct store then click Re-sync products and wait for the sync to complete.
It's important that accurate details are maintained for all of your products and their variants on Shopify. In case of any changes (product materials, packaging, etc.) that can affect your products' weight and dimensions, please update them and perform a re-sync to maintain correct details in Skutopia.
How to load Product weights via Parcel configuration in SKUTOPIA
To configure parcel type presets navigate to Settings > Parcels > Add new parcel.
Fill in the correct weight and dimensions before clicking on save parcel to have this as a preset for future orders.
Similar to your products' weights, it's equally important to make sure that your parcels' dimensions are accurate and can fit all of your customers orders. Please double check your SKU weights and parcels dimensions and update them regularly when needed.
How to load Product weights via a Manual order in SKUTOPIA
- Navigate to the Sales Order page and click "Create order" in the top right side of the screen. Complete the recipient information and click create order.
- Instead of choosing from the dropdown for product name, barcode, or SKU, choose Add Custom Product instead.
- Update the product information including the product weights and click Done. All custom products added here will now appear in the drop down menu for future orders.
Finish filling up the remaining order details before clicking on Create Order.
- Once the order has been created, you can proceed with Booking a Carrier and choose your parcel's dimensions as a custom parcel type from your presets or create a new one from scratch.
You have the option to save these for future use.
